Official Opening of Tricom Asia Representative Office in Hanoi.

Tricom Asia has recently moved into new offices in the Hanoi Horison Office Suites and had their official opening ceremony on November 22.
Mr. Peter Landgren CEO of Tricom Asia opened the ceremony with a presentation about the company and its shareholders. Mr. Landgren also gave his views on the Vietnamese telecommunication market and explained why it is critically important for Vietnam as a country to ensure enough international connectivity is available to support its future growth. Mr. Landgren also declared that Tricom Asia and its partner now have the expertise, funding and facilities needed to build the fiber optical submarine cable between Vietnam and Hong Kong.

Present at the opening ceremony was, in addition to Mr. Peter Landgren and the Tricom management team, senior representatives from Ministry and Planning and Investment, Ministry of Post and Telematics and Vietnam National Post and Telecommunication as well as a number of other companies including among others, Ericsson, ABN AMRO, HSBC, TYCO, NEC, Alcatel, and Fujitsu. Mr. Jan-Olov Agrell, Minister and deputy Ambassador of Sweden, was also a speaker at the ceremony and Mr. Agrell talked about the good relationship and strong ties between Sweden and Vietnam. Mr. Agrell wished Tricom Asia good luck on behalf of the Swedish Embassy.

Mr. Lam Hoang Vinh Vice president VNPT was making a speech at the ceremony and the Tricom Asia team received his congratulations and best wishes for the future.

During the dinner a local children choir entertained as well as some local artists.

During the opening ceremony Tricom Asia and its partners also collected donations for the Thanh Xuan Peace village in Hanoi, a charity rehabilitation centre for disabled children.
